During your first visit to our practice, Dr. Barber will examine your teeth, mouth and face.

We will answer any questions you may have about your orthodontic health and treatment and we will get to know you.

Each patient is assessed thoroughly with expected future dental and facial growth changes in mind. This may mean waiting and monitoring your teeth before commencing treatment or more typical intervention when the permanent teeth have emerged.

At this initial visit you will also have the opportunity to meet our treatment coordinators Letitia or Belinda. The treatment coordinator is very familiar with orthodontic treatment and the stages involved for getting started. They will guide you and your family through this initial appointment and be available to answer any of your questions.

To determine the best course of action and make an accurate diagnosis, Dr. Barber and the treatment coordinator will use:

• Intra and Extra-Oral Photographs
  
• Xrays
  
• Tooth moulds

After your examination, we will take the time to discuss your assessment in detail:
At the end of your consultation we will verbally discuss treatment and financial options with you. If you require orthodontic treatment we will assist with getting you started on your orthodontic journey. We will also provide you with a written exam report outlining the treatment plan and the steps involved.
